Our Programs

God's Design Community Outreach Program

This is an outreach program designed to meet the fundamental and basic needs of low-income families, single parent households, and the unhoused population within our targeted areas.

With majority funding outsourced to communities on the South and West side of Chicago we are committed to directing our resources to other communities in need throughout the Chicagoland area. We will serve neighborhoods in need located in the Western suburbs, South loop, West loop, North Side, and Far North side of Chicago.

Through our program we strive to bring God’s hope, love, and light to communities impacted by a number of socioeconomic factors.

Entrepreneurial Grant Program

This program awards grants to women of color who are established business owners or in the
early stages of starting a business.

Black and Minority entrepreneurs encounter higher levels of disparities and discrimination when it comes to accessing financial capital to start and or operate a business. This impedes their ability to attract customers, generate revenue, and build wealth for their families and community. Through our Entrepreneurial Grant Program women of color will have the financial support they need in pursuit of their entrepreneurial aspirations.

Please review following criteria to be considered for a grant:

-Identify as a minority woman

-Operating or starting a For-Profit Business

-Have a Certificate of Organization or Certificate of Formation

-Have an EIN number

Educated & Empowered Scholarship Program

This program provides need-based scholarships to women of color who are pursuing an undergrad or graduate degree from an accredited college or university. Through this scholarship initiative we seek to support women in
their academic pursuits and career goals to eliminate financial stressors associated with a pursuing higher education.

Salt & Light Collective Giving Circle

“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:13-16
The Salt & Light Giving Circle is a collective and collaborative initiative that puts women of color in the passenger’s seat as funders and decision makers to influence change, equity, and prosperity for girls and women of color.
Historically, women of minority groups have been the face of poverty, lack, racism, disinvestment and more. This has had a negative impact on their ability to serve and make a difference when people view them through the eyes of charity and not empowerment, impact, and strength. It has also created barriers for them to access rooms where decisions were being made for them instead of with them. S&L seeks to change this narrative so that members can leverage their resources, time, and efforts to support and uplift communities in God’s love and light.
As the salt and light of the world, we are called to reflect God’s love, truth, and light for a kingdom impact. Through the S&L Giving Circle, members will have the opportunity to fund organizations that closely align with their beliefs, social impact goals, and philanthropic endeavors. This kind of impact will make the world a better place because these women will reflect not only God’s light and love but his purpose to love one another as we love ourselves. We strive to support women and girls through this grant giving initiative. It is through this initiative that we intend to continue the work being done to eliminate systemic barriers due to disinvestment in minority communities so that girls and women of colors can thrive beyond racial, social, and economic injustices.
