You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. The Salt & Light Giving Circle empowers women of color to become spirit-led philanthropic leaders, driving change, equity, and prosperity for girls and women of color. Historically, women of color have often been perceived through a lens of charity rather than empowerment and strength, limiting their access to decision-making spaces and hindering their ability to create meaningful impact. Salt & Light is changing this narrative.
We believe that women of color are uniquely positioned to understand and address the needs of their communities. As salt and light, they are called to reflect God’s love and truth, making a kingdom impact. Recognizing the limited support available for faith-based initiatives, we are committed to creating a pipeline that elevates the Gospel in corporate and nonprofit spaces. Through the Salt & Light Giving Circle, members leverage their resources, time, and expertise to fund initiatives that align with their Christian values and principles, enhancing their philanthropic goals and social impact objectives. These include:
Church Development: Supporting the building and sustainability of churches in the Chicagoland area.
Global Missions: Funding nonprofit missionary groups spreading the Gospel worldwide.
Faith-Based Entrepreneurship: Investing in Christian entrepreneurs and businesses.
Gospel-Centered Arts: Supporting arts-related projects that promote the Gospel.
These strategic investments, rooted in faith, will create a ripple effect of positive change, supporting projects centered on elevating God’s kingdom as the salt and light of the world
